Blog Hop #1
Build a Line Challenge

"Rustic Grace"

A "Blog Hop" you say???  What the heck is a blog hop?

Simply put, you will be 'hopping' from one blog to another from the list at the end of this blog.  All you have to do is click on the next link when you're done reading here, which I hope that you will do.

The Build a Line Challenge is sponsored by bsueboutiques.com.  Brenda Sue Lansdowne, or B'sue, is attempting to teach us, the participants of this class, how to build a line of jewelry.  This I think is no easy task.  Here is a picture of our illustrious leader:

First of all, I pay tribute to my husband, the namesake of my business, My Love And Me on etsy.com.  He tells me when he loves something I make, and when he doesn't:

And here's a picture of our granddaughter.  What does she have to do with jewelry?  NOTHING!  I just think she's cute.

It is my intention to chronicle where I have been, and where I will go.  I have learned in this class that "No Man is an Island"; no style is ever completely original or unique.  Everyone has been influenced by someone or something.  The challenge is to express those influences in our own cohesive way.  We also learned that, unbeknownst to many, what we do today has it's roots in the methods of the past.

Here are a couple of collages of things I have done in the past:

So, without further adieu, the line I have chosen to develop is "Rustic Grace".  My inspiration comes from the beautifully ornate decorative iron fences that can be found in Russia.  Here are a few  pictures of just two of these beauties in St. Petersburg (the fences, not us, hahaha):

Look at that detail!  I can definitely see some B'sue stampings in there!

Then there is this one at the Hermitage:

And this beautiful statue in Russia inspires me as well:

Some of the brass stampings carried by bsueboutiques.com lend themselves perfectly, don't you think?  Like this one:

And this one:

And remember that gold statue:

And, oh hey,  I think I might add some cameos in the mix too!

Thanks for visiting.  Please read each of the other participants blogs, and comment if you can.  It means a lot to us to know that you have visited.  And if you are inclined, please visit bsueboutiques.com, and maybe join us at the Bsue Boutiques Creative Group on Facebook.  And please stay tuned for the next blog hop on Friday, February 26, 2015.
